To help address the risks associated with being online, we’ve built robust security measures into Wink Platform and created both this Parent Safety Guide (the “Parent Guide”) and a separate Teen Safety Guide (the “ Teen Guide”). We encourage you to share the Parent Guide with your child to help them understand how to stay safe and build positive connections.

These Parent Guide constitute an integral part of the Wink Platform Terms of Service of and Wink Platform Community Guidelines supplement them as provided below.
Wink is a social platform for genuine connections and friendship, including the family of Wink applications, including Wink Social and Wink (collectively, the “Wink Platform”), website (the “Site”), and services, features, content, applications and widgets offered on the Wink Platform.
Our mission is to create the best place to make new friends online. We are committed to providing teens a valuable space to connect while taking strong measures to prevent misuse.
The next sections outline our safety features and how they help keep your child safe.
Sign-Up Protections
From the moment a user creates a Wink Platform profile, our safeguards are in place:
Phone Verification: Users must enter a real phone number and a verification code.
Captcha: To prevent bots, all users complete a captcha challenge.
Real Identity Requirements: Users must provide their real name, date of birth, gender, country, and a clear photo showing their face.
Users have to be Verified to be able to interact with other users. In order to get verified, the user must have a clear photo of a face in the profile and pass a real video verification flow.
Profile Preferences
Users control who they see and who can see them:
- Gender Preferences: Users can choose to connect with males, females, or everyone.
- Location Limits: Users may choose to connect with people worldwide or just in their country. Searching by city or state is not allowed.
- Age Range: Users set the age range of friends they’d like to meet. Only people within this range can view their profile.
- Incognito mode: Only people user likes can see user’s profile
Content Scanning Technology
Every photo uploaded and text posted is scanned using advanced technology to detect:
- Content that is impersonating someone you are not;
- Poor-quality or photos where your face is not visible;
- No Snapcodes, Snap or other social network usernames
- A depiction of violence & harm;
- Terrorist content;
- Harassment and discrimination;
- Bullying and sharing offensive materials;
- Advertising and solicitation;
- Illegal content and dangerous products (weapons, drugs, etc.).
- Sexually explicit content.
Flagged images are deleted immediately, and accounts posting restricted content are permanently banned.
24/7 Human Moderation
Our team of moderators manually reviews all inappropriate content that technology may miss. Moderators remove violating content and ban offending users.
User Reporting Tools
We empower users to help keep the community safe:
- Recognize suspicious behavior
- includes, but is not limited to the request of sending money for any reason.
- Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of a profile or conversation.
- Select Report User and describe the concern.
- Our team investigates every report.
Talk
have open conversations about why your child uses Wink Platform and what other apps they use. This builds trust and helps you stay informed.
Encourage
remind your child to treat others with respect, just as they would like to be treated themselves.
Reassure
let your child know they are never alone. Any concerns they have are valid, and you, along with Wink Platform, are here to support them.
Empower
after reading this Parent Guide, share the Teen Guide with your child. It contains practical tools and tips to help them feel safe and confident while using Wink Platform.
Warn
the child should be careful in sharing the details of the daily routine, exact address and other sensitive private information.
